The Boè and Vallon area, in the heart of Alta Badia, is an ideal destination for those who want to experience the mountains through nature, spectacular views and imagination.

It’s perfect for walks suitable for everyone, including families. One of the most popular is the easy walk to the charming Lech de Boè lake, reachable in about 20 minutes, surrounded by a unique Dolomite landscape.

Those who prefer to reach higher elevations effortlessly can take the Vallon chairlift, which leads to one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Alta Badia, perfect for admiring the entire Val Badia from above. From the top station, it’s easy to reach Rifugio Kostner, ideal for a scenic break.

The area is also a key starting point for numerous via ferratas and climbing routes on the Sella Group, beloved by mountain enthusiasts.

Vallon, with its extraordinary natural amphitheater, invites both adults and children to observe the impressive Dolomite rock formations up close. Here, pareidolia comes into play, a natural phenomenon where the mind recognizes familiar shapes, faces, or figures in natural elements like rocks. Thanks to this, the mountains seem to tell stories inspired by Ladin legends, populated by dragons, princesses, and fantastic creatures.

To make the experience even more engaging, children can pick up a small drawing pad and pencils at the valley station and sketch the shapes their imagination discovers while observing the rocks.

After exploring the area, local huts and mountain lodges offer the perfect setting for a relaxing break, with traditional flavors and unforgettable views.

From the Boè and Vallon area, it’s also possible to walk back down to the valley, choosing among various panoramic trails, toward Corvara or in the direction of Passo Campolongo, to end the day immersed in the beauty of the Dolomites.
