SNOWMAN
Every year from November through January, Alta Badia keeps skiers in the loop with its Snow Report, giving you real-time updates on snowmaking operations and groomed runs, whether you’re checking from your phone or from the comfort of your couch.
The data aggregator, developed by Skicarosello Corvara in collaboration with Business Process Engineering Srl, collects information on snow production, snow groomers and slopes ready to open, providing live monitoring of snow conditions across the ski area.
The application, called SKI.P.BX, is powered by XBPR® (extensible Business Process Repository) technology, which processes and reorganizes data using a semantic approach.
Originally designed to optimize the use of our most precious natural resource, water, and minimize electricity consumption, the system soon revealed something else: guests love tracking snowmaking progress and slope preparation in real time.
That’s how the Snow Report became a must-check tool for skiers counting down the days until they can carve their first turns in Alta Badia.
With the Snow Report, you can stay updated on the conditions of some of the area’s most iconic runs: Piz Sorega, Col Alto, Boé and of course Gran Risa, home to the legendary Alpine Ski World Cup races every December.
